Call for papers
To whom is it intented?
This call for papers is intended for investigators, police practitioners, researchers
and teachers working in the field of investigative interviewing.
Format for submission of papers of proposed presentations
To propose a conference , specialized workshop, or poster session presentation
you must follow the following guidelines:
- Complete the
registration form and submit it in its’ original format (Microsoft Word) via e-mail. Should you encounter problems
using the form, please notify us by e-mail, using this link.
- Submit an overview of your proposed presentation.
- The title of your overview must be brief and as self explanatory as possible.
- The overview may be submitted in either French or English (submissions in both languages would be appreciated).
- The overview must include an accurate global perspective of your presentation.
- The text must be written with Times New Roman 12 characters and single spaced. Word format is preferred.
- The text must not exceed 400 words.
- References, if any, should be annexed.
- Tables and graphs, if any, should be annexed.
- The registration form and the overview must be submitted by e-mail.
Categories of Presentations
- Conference
These will be 45 minutes plenary presentations in the auditorium (30 minutes of presentation and 15 minutes for questions)
- Workshop
These will be 90 minutes presentations in auditorium/classroom permitting group interaction and promoting a deeper
understanding of the subject material.
- Poster session presentation
These will be exposition style presentations set up among other presenters. This will be a venue that provides
an opportunity to display research material, practical work, books, documents, tables, audio visual material, etc.
These presentations will remain in place throughout the conference. Your presence will be required for a
minimum of 60 minutes during a predetermined period of time in order to exchange with other participants and to
be available to explain your material and answer questions.
Some conference presentations will be offered with simultaneous translation in French and
English (particularly the plenary presentations). Other presentations will be offered unilingualy in French or
English depending on the availability of translation services and participant interest.
Selection criteria
Only written submissions that respect the overall criteria described in the section dealing
with Format for submission of papers will be considered.
The Scientific Committee for the conference will select presentations based on the
principle theme of the 2008 conference and the number of submissions received. The overview submissions will be
evaluated in consideration of the following three criteria:
- Relevance of the proposal
- Participant interest in the subject matter
- Originality or innovation
The Scientific Committee may recommend that the proposed presentation be provided in a
venue other than intended by the author (plenary, workshop, poster session).
Submit overviews
Submit overviews of proposed presentations no later than February 15, 2008.
